Safeguarding

At Blackfordby Primary School, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We are fully committed to keeping all children safe and ensuring that they feel secure, valued and respected. All staff, governors and volunteers work together to create a culture of vigilance where the welfare of pupils is always the highest priority.

We follow statutory guidance including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and all safeguarding policies and procedures are aligned with the requirements of the RISE Multi Academy Trust and the Leicestershire & Rutland Safeguarding Children Partnership.

If you have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please contact us immediately.

Safeguarding Emergency (Out of Hours)

If you need to report a safeguarding concern when school is closed:

This monitored email allows concerns to be escalated during weekends and school holidays.

What Safeguarding Means at Our School

We are committed to:

  • Creating a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Listening to pupils and valuing their voice
  • Training staff regularly in safeguarding and child protection
  • Acting swiftly on concerns
  • Working with families, external professionals and the local authority
  • Promoting safe online behaviour
  • Teaching pupils how to stay safe, both in and out of school

All staff and volunteers undergo enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding induction.
