Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding is used to support pupils who may face barriers to learning. This page explains how the funding is used at Blackfordby Primary School and the impact it has on our pupils.
The Pupil Premium enhances opportunities for eligible children
Pupil premium was introduced in April 2011 and is paid to schools as a grant. It is allocated to schools for each child who:
- Is entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) or who has been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years;
- Has parents who are currently serving in the armed forces;
- Is in the care of the Local Authority or post adoption.
Our school is committed to 'Narrowing the Gap' between vulnerable pupils and their peers. The pupil premium will form a vital part of that process.
Provision will be made through:
- Supporting pupils' access to education
- Supporting pupils' access to the curriculum
- Alternative support and intervention where appropriate within the school environment
