Enabling children to flourish and succeed

School Dinners

Our School Meal Service

At Blackfordby St Margaret’s, we are proud to use Relish as our school meal provider across the RISE Multi‑Academy Trust. Meals are cooked fresh each day at Measham Primary School by trained catering staff and brought to Blackfordby ready to be served in our school hall.

Relish offer a healthy, varied and child‑friendly menu with hot options, vegetarian choices, jacket potatoes and themed meals throughout the year — including Christmas Lunch and other celebration days.

Ordering School Meals

School meals must be pre‑ordered using the Relish Parent Portal.

How to order meals

  • Log into the Relish Parent Portal website
  • Choose your child’s meals for the days/weeks ahead
  • Save your selections so school and kitchen staff receive them

Children who have not pre‑ordered can still order a meal each morning in class, but pre‑ordering is strongly encouraged to ensure availability and reduce food waste.

Paying for School Meals

Although meals are ordered via the Relish Parent Portal, all payments are made through your child’s:

➡️ Arbor Meal Account

You can top up your Arbor account at any time, and payments will be deducted automatically once a meal is taken.

Where Meals Are Served

All children eat together in the school hall, whether they have a hot dinner or a packed lunch.

During warmer weather, children may choose to eat outside to enjoy a picnic‑style lunchtime.

Packed Lunches

Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch from home.
We kindly ask that lunches are:

  • healthy
  • nut‑free
  • free from fizzy drinks or sweets

Packed lunches are eaten in the hall or outside on fine days.

Free School Meals (FSM)

Some families may be entitled to means‑tested Free School Meals, which provide your child with a free, healthy hot meal each day.

To find out more about eligibility and how to apply, please visit:

➡️ Our Free School Meals information on the Pupil Premium page

Even if your child normally brings a packed lunch, applying helps the school access important Pupil Premium funding.

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically receive a free meal each day under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
